Dick

Dick was saved in 1942 or 1943 in Springfield and filled with the Spirit in 1977 in Houston.

He and his wife Clancy were born and raised in Springfield. They were blessed with 4 children. Their son, their oldest, went to be with Jesus at the age of 41 in 1998. Their oldest daughter was called home at age 56 in December 2015. They have 2 daughters, Kelly Johnson and Robin Wisdom, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, all still in Texas. God called Dick’s wife home in March 2016.

In 1967, Cooper Industries moved them to Houston. In 1980, at God’s direction, Dick left the business world for Bible College and was ordained in June 1983.

In March 2000, Clancy and Dick moved back to Springfield because of Clancy’s blood condition, to avoid heat and humidity-they thought! That move was also of God. They found Fellowship in the obituary section of the newspaper. There was life in that particular obit. Their first visit was the Sunday after Easter in 2000- and they have never left!

Dick serves as an elder and on the Pastoral Cares Team at Fellowship.

He loves reading, his grand and great grandchildren and Gaither Homecoming music.
