Justin and Suzy Evans
For years we have heard the saying “God’s timing is always perfect”. We knew in our hearts this was true, but wanting something for so long with unanswered prayers was a huge weight on our hearts. We had been married for seven years and always knew we wanted to have a family but struggled with infertility. Soon after we started attending Spring Hill we saw an announcement for Life Groups and decided to just jump in. We normally didn’t share about our struggle to conceive as it always brought us to a dark place, where we felt so inadequate as a married couple. But God had other plans. We asked for prayer and slowly started to take down the walls around our hearts and fully let God and our new community in.
We were blown away by the weekly prayers and the Sundays where members of our group would stop us and check to see how things were going or simply say we are praying for you. We felt God had put each person in our life for a reason. We once again started fertility treatments and then returned for our third season of Life Groups. We were asked to help lead Life Groups as God was drawing us closer to Him, deeper into our new community, and further outside our comfort zone.
What seemed like a lifetime of weekly doctor appointments and tiresome trips to Columbus only ended up being 5 months of treatment before we were blessed to find out we were expecting. We were so excited to share this joy and answered prayer with our Life Group and church family. We received prayer and encouragement throughout the pregnancy which helped take away our fear and anxiety. Today, we can see how God’s plan was more perfect than ours. He provided us a chance to struggle and find His comfort over the comforts of the world. Baby Cora is an answered prayed. To physically see and hold an answered prayer reminds us every day of the incredible love our Heavenly Father has for each of us.
